Why Collaborating is Good for Business

I don’t know about you but we believe that collaborating is one of the key elements of a successful business. In fact, the Uplevel Your Biz brand wouldn’t have come to fruition if it wasn’t for a collaboration. 

Why Collaborating is Good for Business

Collaborating is not only good for business, but I think it’s absolutely necessary. I am a huge believer in the saying “community over competition” and I think that collaborating allows for us to expand our horizons not only to a new audience but also to others in the online business space as well. 

How can collaborating be beneficial?

Collaborating allows for us to step outside of our comfort zones and a collaboration can be as easy as having a coffee chat with another business owner and deciding to do a podcast swap or engage in a joint venture (JV) partnership. 

At the end of 2017, Lindsey and I participated in a freebie bundle collaboration with several other business owners and we basically all gave away a free resource in exchange for email addresses. It was a complete hit and a lot of the people who opted into that bundle are still on my email list to this day since it was such a solid group of ladies. 

Over the next year or so, I participated in 2 other bundles that were structured similarly with different ladies but the first bundle I participated in definitely had the best retention rate. 

In 2018, Lindsey and I decided to host our very first virtual summit and from there, Uplevel Your Biz was officially born. We absolutely loved that collaboration and felt like it worked so well that we decided to pursue the Uplevel Your Biz brand on a more permanent scale. 

Best Ways to Collaborate in Business 

Participate in a swap // Whether you’re swapping guest posts or both have a podcast and swapping interviews, this is an easy way to dip your toes into collaborating. 

Create a freebie bundle // This is a great way to collaborate with other business owners while also growing your email list. A total win-win if you ask me. 

Co-host a summit // Like I’ve mentioned before, this is how Uplevel Your Biz got its start so its definitely something I recommend if you’re willing to commit to a bigger collaboration. Summits are a great way for you to get your name out there while also helping others get their name out there. 

Partner up for a webinar or other type of JV partnership // This is the only one on the list that I have never done before but it’s something I’m definitely interested in exploring this year, both with my own brand and Uplevel Your Biz.
