In today’s episode, we’re talking with Lee McDonough all about the the 3 Ms of entrepreneurship.

What are the 3 Ms of entrepreneurship and why are they important?

The 3 Ms are:

  • Meaning
  • Mindset
  • Mindfulness

The 3 Ms are rooted in acceptance therapy, but are extremely relevant for entrepreneurs!

When we marry the 3 Ms we get into a flow state that leads to a successful business and a fulfilled life.

How can we create meaning in our business and life?

Meaning is the foundation for everything we do in our business and life.

Meaning focuses on the core values that we want to center our business and life around.

It comes down to, “what really matters to you?”

A value is not an achievement or something we can accomplish, it is a direction we are moving toward.

What are some of the best practices we can do to put us on the right path for our mindset?

Mindset includes thoughts AND emotions.

With thoughts, when negative thoughts come up, we tend to latch onto them and become one with them.

With emotions, when negative emotions come up, we tend to run away from them.

As an entrepreneur, we need to reverse that flow.

Create space between your thoughts and yourself.

With emotions, we need to come a little closer to them. You need to allow the emotion to be. This doesn’t mean to latch on to it. But just to notice when they come up.

We get to remain in control and decide how they get to affect us.

What is mindfulness?

All mindfulness is, is being fully present in the moment with a level of awareness and non judgement.

Meditation is a fantastic way of practicing mindfulness, and if it works for you great! But it is not the only way to practice mindfulness.

Mindfulness can help bring yourself back to center when you feel yourself being pulled in every direction.

It can be as simple as going for a walk and noticing the wind through the trees.

How can we tie all three together?

It is okay to start with anyone of the three Ms.

There is no right or wrong way to do this.

As you start to focus on the three Ms, you will start to see the overlap between them.
