Episode #101 | How to Set Yourself Up for a Successful Year of Business

In today’s episode, we’re talking all about how to set yourself up for a successful year of business.

The importance of conducting a yearly review.

Conducting a yearly review helps you see what went right and what didn’t and determine if the year was aligned with your big vision.

This is important because it allows us to reflect on what occurred over the last 365 days so that we can make changes or pivot if needed based on last year’s results.

Why it’s necessary to create a yearly plan.

At this point, you’ll want to plan out what you want to accomplish during your next 365 days and then break it down into quarters.

This will help make your big goals more manageable and less overwhelming. Check out episode 3 for more information on how to create a quarterly plan.

How to make commitments to yourself for your business.

Now that you have a plan, it’s important to actually implement it.

If you have certain things you want to implement, for example, a morning routine – this is where you’ll take the time to put these goals into action.

Start a daily mindset practice.

A daily mindset practice helps you set yourself up for success.

This can be something like daily affirmations or daily gratitude and allowing ourselves to celebrate the big and small wins.

Your mindset isn’t something that you only need to work on one time – it’s important to find something that works for you.

Why you need to surround yourself with the right people.

Rid yourself of anything that is toxic and surround yourself with people who lift you up instead of bringing you down. This includes people in business, friends, and family.

Nothing is more detrimental to business than being surrounded by people with a negative mindset.

Why it’s key to learn from your mistakes and failures.

The only way you are going to fail is if you never try.

– Jenny Suneson

We are in the camp of letting every mistake serve as a learning lesson instead of something that we throw a pity party about. Don’t let your mistakes keep you stuck in the past and hold you back from moving forward in your business.

Why you should plan out your education and networking opportunities.

If there are certain courses that you know you want to take this year, then map it out.

This makes it so you don’t purchase multiple courses or classes that overlap.

Taking advantage of any relevant networking opportunities is important because we are not in a silo and need to build community outside of our own business.
